Transaction Processing System is operational-level systems that feed
all others systems in the organization
·
Provide data to support the management of operations.
·
Usually obtained through the automated or semi-automated tracking of
low-level activities and basic transactions.
a
TPS system collects, modifies, stores
and retrieves data from all the users of google company. An Example of TPS tools used by Google is cookies,
it stores information about the users’ activity in the web throughout the
entire time it is used, and therefore Google uses these information to know and
understand the users’ preferences and then uses them for its search engine to
give out the most relevant results. If we take a look at the Google translator
we see that it processes billions of texts that have been translated before by
humans from books and organizations (UN) and look for statistically certain
patterns and keep them in its database for users when they translate texts so
that it gives them the most accurate
translation for it.
Google
analytics also uses cookies, it is a TPS system that keep track of ecommerce on
a site
They
start by creating a method that store all of the information that’s required
for a certain transaction (ID, shipping charge, billing etc.) that are related
to a certain item that’s been ordered. And then they use another method that
stores information about each item for each transaction such as Price, category
and quantity. And then they finally submit it to the analytics server which
finalizes the transaction.
MIS

information and support for effective decision making, and provides feedback on
daily operations[i]. MIS is an integrated
collection of subsystems, which are typically organized along functional lines
within an organization.
Ø Data :

High volume data
·
Past and present data
·

·
provide data for Middle managers
An example of MIS is the PageRank[iii]
by Google, this system organizes the importance of the web
pages by using complicated[iv] algorithm
equations and in order to place each website in a specific rank so the use can
determine the its significance and importance by its ranking place.
Some examples of MIS:
·
Sales management systems
